31 weeks!

I can't believe that Christmas is a week away. Where has this year gone?? We have less than 9 weeks until my due date. My guess is that Lilah will make her appearance sometime between Valentine's Day and my birthday. We are getting close to being done with her done with the nursery. Brian is going to put some corner shelves up this weekend and then we will hang the pictures on the wall. My mom is making the valance. We want to get a little chandelier to hang in the corner above the glider and we still need to get a ceiling fan. I also would like to get a rug to put in front of the crib. The goal is to be completely done by mid February just in case Lilah decided to make an early appearance. We have our hospital tour scheduled for 12/28 and our newborn care class scheduled for 1/11. I also need to tweak my birth plan and little bit and make my list for the hospital bag so we don't forget anything. The other huge thing we still need to figure out is if I will be taking 8 or 12 weeks off after she is born. I really want to take the full 12, but we just don't know if it will work out. That decision also effects when we need to get daycare started. There is just so much to think about over the next few weeks!

30 weeks!

I had an appointment with the perinatalogist today. I was referred by my OB due to a cyst on my left ovary. They were not to concerned about it, just wanted a second evaluation by a specialist. I knew they would need to do an ultrasound to check it out and I was hoping that we would get to peek at Lilah. It was great! They did a 30-45 minute ultrasound and most of it was on her :) She apparently really likes to suck on her fingers and is super-interested in her toes. That is what she did just about the entire time lol. It was so different than the other ultrasounds I have had. My OB's office is so quick. The ultrasounds are usually only like 5 minutes. Even the anatomy scan was only about 10 minutes. They did another full anatomy scan today and said everything looked great. Lilah is measuring right on target for 30 weeks and she weighs around 3lbs 4oz right now. Her heart rate was 141bpm. It was 146bpm the last two times we heard it. The doctor said that the cyst was just a simple fluid filled cyst from me getting pregnant and he thinks it will go away after I have the baby. I will have it re-checked 6 weeks after delivery and if it hasn't gone down on its own they may want to do laproscopic surgery to remove it. Here is the new picture from today. A profile shot (finally!) of Lilah sucking on her fist:

29 weeks!

I am a little late posting this, but I had such a great time at my baby shower! It was great! It was so good to see everyone and am so thankful to everyone that come out to celebrate the upcoming birth of our little girl! Here are a few pictures from that day!

26 weeks!

We finished painting the nursery last weekend. It looks so great! Brian did a wonderful job. I helped where I could, but he had to do 98% of the work because of the fumes. I can't believe I am 26 weeks pregnant already. Only 14 weeks left. The time is going by SO fast! February will be here and we will get to meet our baby girl :) I am also pretty excited because my baby shower is next weekend! I am really looking forward to it. I can't wait to see everyone!!

24 weeks!

Brian did a lot of work on Lilah's closet this weekend. We got everything moved out of there and he painted the inside the lighter pink that we are using in her room. He also put in a custom shelving unit. It is just great! I washed all of the clothes we have gotten so far in Dreft and hung them all up. It really feels like a little girls room now :) Brian also put a built-in bookshelf next to the closet. He still needs to put the outer trim on, but it looks great too! Here are a couple of pictures.

23 weeks!

Lilah has become quite the squirmy baby! It is like someone flipped her "on" switch lol. Over the last week I have been feeling her at all different times of day. It is such a strange feeling, but is so amazing! It puts a smile on my face every time I feel her move. I really can't wait until Brian can feel her move.

We are trying to figure out how we are going to paint the nursery. I think we have finally settled on a paint scheme, we just have to get to right two shades of pink now. You would not believe how hard that is to decide lol. We are also thinking of eliminating a piece of furniture we have in there. If we do, I can have the furniture laid out the way that I originally wanted. It will also make her room feel bigger.

22 weeks!

Looks like were are going to have a Lilah Rose!!!

She finally decided to uncross her legs today and show us the goods lol. At first she didn't want to cooperate again. They ended up doing a quick vaginal ultrasound because everything was facing that direction. As soon as the screen came up, there it was! I knew it was girl from the very beginning!! They said everything looks great. She is measuring right on the mark for 22 weeks. She weighs 1lb 1oz.

My glucose test results were good, no gestational diabetes. The doctor was very happy with my weigh gain thus far, only 9 pounds. If I keep this up I should finish out at my goal of no more than a 20 lb weight gain!

Cute Cupcakes

I saw these today and wanted to post them so I would remember what they looked like lol. I just love the little flowers and pearls! I think they would be really cute for a baby shower, hint hint :)

21 weeks!

I can't believe how fast this pregnancy is going by! Wow, 131 days until we have our baby. We are really looking forward to next Thursday. Hopefully, the little peanut will cooperate this time and show us the goods lol. We have names picked out now, so I am really looking forward to being able to start calling him or her by their name :)

So there they are! Those are the names we picked!! We love them both and can't wait to see which one we will get. I will be posting the big annoucement on here Thursday night after we call and tell the family. So exciting!! I am taking the off whole day on Thursday. After we have the ultrasound, we are going to breakfast or lunch with my mom and dad. My mom will be at the appointment with us and I wanted to tell my dad in person. Then after that we are going to go to Babies 'R Us and update our registery with all the fun gender-specific stuff!! Yay!

Also, if it's a boy, the bedding has changed. We went and looked at the forest bedding a couple of week ago and decided it was not what we wanted. It is super cute, but there are little leaves on it that are made of felt and they are pretty hard. Brian didn't like that and neither did I when he pointed it out it me. Now we have found this really cute monkey bedding. I remember seeing it when I was just casually looking back when we were just trying to get pregnant. The best part is, we can still get the cute tree decal for the wall becasue it will look great with the monkey's too!! Here it is:

Bedding... Again :)

So, if we are having a girl, bedding is done. We got a really good deal so we went ahead and bought it. Boy bedding is harder to me. We have been looking at a few different things and we finally found one we love! It is SO cute! I just love the little forest animals. I also found this tree wall decal that I want to get in brown to put on the wall. Now we just have to find out what this little peanut is! :)

Almost Half-way There!

Someone posted a link to this website that predicts your labor and delivery. Pretty interesting lol

The day you deliver, outside will be rainy. Your baby will arrive in the early afternoon. After a labor lasting approximately 5 hours, your child, a boy, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 8 pounds, 14 ounces, and will be 21 inches long. This child will have medium violet eyes and fluffy brown hair.

Something else that says boy... guess we will see!
Still trying to hold out until October 15th.

18 weeks!

Well I guess I skipped the 17 week post lol! I went in for my 18 week checkup today. There was no plan to do an ultrasound (Woodstock office doesn't have a U/S machine). When my doctor tried to find the heartbeat on the doppler, he couldn't get it. He said that he could hear it moving around, but just couldn't catch the heartbeat. He sent me to the other office in Marietta for an ultrasound. Thank god when we got there everything looking great! Baby is measuring right on target for 18 weeks. The tech said our little peanut weighs 8 oz right now. We got to hear the heartbeat again, 146 bpm, just like last time (truly the most amazing sound ever, I cried like a baby again lol). We also got a couple of cute pictures that look like I have a little alien growing in there! She asked if we wanted to know the sex, of course we said yes..... well guess what?? Baby wouldn't uncross the legs! We tried to get him/her to turn, but it wasn't happening. I even went outside and walked around for a bit and had a little coke thinking the caffine would do the trick. No such luck! The baby had changed positions but still had the legs crossed lol. Better luck next time! Now we have to wait 4 more weeks to try again. The ultrasound tech told me to schedule my next appointment at the Marietta office so we could sneak in a ultrasound then. Now I am really looking forward to October 15th! Here are the new ultrasound pics from today!

16 weeks!

Ugh. I have the WORST headache. They have been really bad for the last couple of days. My head just pounds and pounds. I had to leave work today because it was so bad. I can't do the computer for very long at all. It makes it even worse.

Brian is working all weekend, so that's bummer. It's a 3-day weekend so I will have to find something to do lol. Maybe if I get a ton of sleep the headaches will not be as bad. I'll keep my fingers crossed on that one.

In much better news, I felt the baby move Thursday morning. It's was about 4am and I had to get up for a potty break (4th one of the night lol) and when I got back in bed I felt this little flitter thing in my belly! It was pretty cool! Then Thursday night I am pretty sure I felt it again :)

15 weeks!

Brian started a part-time job a few weeks ago. I am so glad he was able to find something, but I really miss him on the weekends. Yesterday I went to another kids consignment sale. It was no where near as good as the last 2 I went to. I got a couple of clothing items and that was it. They had the bouncy seat that matches my swing and playmat, but they wanted $35 bucks for it and I can get a new one for $40 so I passed. Did I mention that last weekend I got a bedding set? My mom bought a boy set and I bought a girl set. They are both really cute, but unfortunately the boy set doesn't fit our crib. The girl set was so pretty and just too great of a deal to pass up. It's by Nautica. The original price was $320 and we got it for $30 from Kid 2 Kid! I had no intention of buying bedding until we found out what we were having but look how cute it is :) If we found out we are having a boy I will either save this bedding for the possibility of baby #2 or consign it. I am counting the days until September 17th so that we can get the BIG ultrasound scheduled. Only 18 days until my next appt!

Crib!!

We got our crib today!!! My mom went to a consignment sale and found this awesome Ragazzi crib! I love it and it is in such good condition!! It was also only $150 w/ the mattress included!! This crib is $500 new! I went to pick it up today with my dad and brother and it is all put together in the nursery now :)

14 weeks!

14 weeks today! Hello 2nd trimester!! The main thing I have going on right now that SUCKS is that my gag reflex has gotten super sensitive so I am getting sick sometimes again. Ugh. I thought that was over. No nausea, but if I smell something that is too strong or eat certain things I get the dry-heaves and get sick. Awesome. Other than that, I can’t really complain. I have had a lot more energy this week. We got everything moved out of the room that is going to be the nursery this past weekend and reorganized the office so that the queen size bed would fit in there. I am still a grumpy bear quite often though. The worst part of the day to me is after lunch. I get really tired and cranky and I am just over it by then. But other than that, everything is awesome. My mom went to a consignment sale yesterday and got us a really great exersaucer. Love it! I am taking Brian to go see the crib we want this weekend. Can't wait!

Dr's Appt

It went great! All my blood work came back good. My blood pressure was good. I have lost a pound since my last appt, so that puts my grand total weight gain for this pregnancy at 1 pound so far lol. I can't complain about that! She did the little Doppler and listened for the heartbeat. We could only hear it for a second at a time because the baby was moving around so much. They schedule my next appt for Sept 17th. I'll be 18 weeks then and she said they will schedule my ultrasound for 2 weeks after that. So 6 more weeks and we will know what we have baking in there :) Can't wait!

13 weeks!

Brian & I went to the All4Kids consignment sale on Thursday night. We got to go early for the "first-time mom's" pre-sale. It was awesome! We gt alot of good stuff for really great deals. We spent around $140 bucks and got $550 worth of stuff (seriously. I looked everything up online when we gt home lol). We found a book and a couple of small toys and we also picked up a swing, bath tub, play gym mat, a humidifier, crib soother and a stroller. Very exciting! When I got home from work yesterday a wiped everything down with lysol. It all pretty much looked like new, but I still wanted to clean is myself. The stroller is great. It is a Graco Metrolite, which is the same type of stroller we registered for and it was $20, you can't beat that! The swing is awesome, it's the open-top Fisher Price rainforest design. So cute! It was brand new and we only paid $65 for it (reg price is $140!). The play gym mat matches the swing. It is the exact one we registered for and it was only $20. My mom came by today to see all the things we got and to bring us the glider and ottoman the my grandmother had. It's not the same wood color we are going to use in the nursery, but it is in great condition and it is comfortable. I feel so ahead of the game on getting things now. It's great! Here are some pics of the stuff we got:

12 weeks!

I came across this neat link on my babycenter.com boards. Check out the results:
babybpm fetal heart rate gender predictor
This is what I have been thinking all along, guess we'll have to wait and see! I go in for my next appointment on 8/14 and I am thinking they might schedule my next ultrasound then. It will be so exciting having a date to countdown to! I really can't wait to find out what this little peanut is!

11 weeks!

11 weeks, wow. First trimester is just about over! I am feeling pretty good these days, over all. I still have low energy and get tired kind of early, but I'll take that over getting sick any day :)

A good friend of mine gave me a pointer that we should register for gender neutral items early, that way we don't have to wait until after we find out what we are having and do it all at once. We went to Babies 'R Us last night and got started. It was fun, but exhausting lol. At least we have jump start on it and we won't have to spend 3 hours in the store when I am 20+ weeks pregnant lol.

9 weeks!

I can't believe we are already @ 9 weeks. Only 3 weeks left in the first trimester! We picked up another baby name book a few days ago. We have the boy name picked out but girl names are so hard! The search continues. We have found a couple that we like, but nothing that we are head-over-heels for just yet. I think we have PLENTY of time to get it figured out though :) I really feel like it is a girl, I guess we will just have to wait and see.

8 weeks!

My nausea has slowed down. It isn't constant anymore, just here and there. Thank goodness! The last 2 weeks were miserable. I am glad to be experiencing some relief. My next appointment is on July 20th. That's when they will do my OB work-up. That's code for "lots and lots of bloodwork" lol. At that appointment I think I will also be finding out more about how often I will be going in. The midwife I have been seeing already told me that they will probably not be doing another ultrasound until 20 weeks, which will be October. That's when we will be able to find out if we are having a boy or girl! Well, I am super-tired right now, so I think I am going to take a nap before Brian gets home!

New pics of the peanut!!!

My appointment went great today!!! Brian went with me and we got to hear the heartbeat, it was amazing! They also gave me 2 different prescriptions for my nausea, thank goodness! They confirmed my due date of February 18, 2010. I feel so much more at ease. It's Facebook news now as well, so this blog is public again! We had a great day after my appointment. We went to North Point Mall and I got to do a little retail therapy at Sephora. All together, and awesome day :)

Thursday, July 2, 2009

7 weeks!

I have my next appointment tomorrow! Brian is going also. I am excited, can't wait to be able to see more. I know it still won't really look a "baby," but still :) I am also looking forward to being able to see the heartbeat. That will make me much more at ease. I am fairly certain that everything is just fine. I have been so sick, my hormones are most definitely increasing. I will post a new picture tomorrow!

The saltines have been helping, to some extent, with my nausea. Lemon flavored hard candy and ginger ale have also been doing the trick. Basically, I am miserable until about 6 or 7pm every day lol.

Long Day

So today has been the worst day by far. I got nauseous super early today. I had to stop half way through getting readyfor work this morning and go eat peanut butter toast. The drive to work was so bad that I went to Publix and get saltine crackers at 7:30 this morning. I decided to try them and they actually kind of helped. I felt terrible for the first hour and half of my work day then I started feeling pretty good. By the time lunch came around I was so hungry and I was craving Moe's. I got some nachos. Apparently, that was not a good idea. I got more sick than I have gotten to this point. I felt terrible and I just wanted to go home a crawl under a blanket and go to sleep. Now that I am at home and have eaten dinner I feel a little better.

Weekend

Why do the weekends have to go by so darn fast?? Yesterday we had our gathering. It ended up being just a handful of us, but we had a nice time. Sometimes the smaller groups end up being more fun. Today we had to go by Babies 'R Us to pick up registry cards for the shower I am throwing for Shoshanna and of course we walked around and looked at stuff for us :) We found two cribs that we really liked. I think that one of them could end up being our pick. The prices weren't too bad either, all things considered. They are both better looking in person than they are in the online pictures.

6 weeks!

Today started out as the worst day yet, symptom-wise. I was super tired when I got up this morning. I pretty much felt like a zombie. Getting ready this morning was slow-going because of that. While I was getting ready for work I ate my usual morning wheat toast, I had some grapes on the way to work and I had a lemon yogurt when I got to the office. The lemon yogurt did not go over well at all. Bleh. I won't be eating that again any time soon. Later, after lunch, I got nauseous again. I went to Walgreen's and got some ginger gum. Let me tell you, that stuff works wonders. Most of the time after I eat I feel like my stomach is doing back flips. This gum made that stop. Amazing! It is REALLY spicy and kind of burns your tongue when you first start chewing it, but it is so worth it. I have a feeling I will be going to bed early tonight. I am really glad tomorrow is Friday. This week seemed really long and short at the same time. Brian is done with his big job he was doing so he should be getting the final pay out next week, yay!

Monday, June 22, 2009

First Appointment

Well, this is the first ultrasound picture of our baby. I know what you are thinking... "where?" See that eggplant-shaped white area with black in the middle near the top-center part of the picture?? That's it! It's the yolk sac, doesn't look like much right now, but the tech assured me that everything is on track for how early I am (5 weeks, 4 days). They scheduled another appointment for me on July 3rd for another ultrasound so we can see a heartbeat.
I think I will feel a lot better after that. I am just so nervous for some reason.

Happy Father's Day!

We went to my dad's house today to celebrate father's day with him. We were so ready to tell my dad about the baby. When we got there I almost immediately had him open his presents, knowing I wouldn't be able to wait. There were two gift bags. In the first bag, Brian & I gave him a wedding album and I this book I had made for him with pictures my grandmother gave me of my dad growing up. He loved them. In the second bag, there was a framed picture of me and my dad from the wedding and in the bottom of the bag was the "I Love Grandpa" bib. When he read the front of the bib his eyes got huge and he said "WHAT?!?!" Then he hugged my and started crying. It was so sweet. Jeremy made a video of it that I will post as soon as I get it from him. All in all, it was a great day!

On a side note, I have figured out that eggs trigger nausea and strawberries bring on heartburn hardcore. So needless to say, I will be skipping those two foods for a little while!

You know you're pregnant when...

You cry in the greeting card isle at Target. I was getting a father's day card for my dad and I also wanted to pick up a card for Brian. They had these really cute/sweet Daddy-to-be cards and I was getting all teary-eyed reading them. Ah, hormones :)

I can't believe today was Friday. This week went by fast, all things considered. I made it through without telling anyone at work. I am so proud of myself! I can't believe I didn't let it slip. Now I am just looking forward to Sunday. Then we get to tell my dad!

FYI - No nausea today, only a little heartburn!

Thursday, June 18, 2009

5 weeks!

Awesome. The symptoms keep coming! I got sick again today after lunch. My worst time of day so far is between 10:30 - 2pm. I have been getting nauseous a lot around that time everyday. It's like clock work. I am having some heartburn right now. I think I have been eating too much spicy stuff. I am so ready to tell my dad. I can't wait until Sunday! My mom thinks that he is going to cry like a baby lol. I can't wait to see his reaction :) I am also ready to tell everyone at work. It is soooo hard trying to wait until after Monday. I am just ready to go to this appointment! I guess I should really get used to the idea of waiting though, this baby is going to take 35 more weeks to bake :)

Wednesday, June 17, 2009

The sickness continues

Hopefully it won't be like this everyday, haha! I had an episdode of queasiness this morning around 10:30am and it ended up being "eventful." Yuck! I thought is was going to happen again after lunch, but luckily nothing did. Tomorrow I will be 5 weeks pregnant. Seems crazy that we are that far in already and we have only known for a week. I am so ready to tell everyone, but I am really trying to wait until after my first appointment on Monday. I feel like everthing is going ok but I am still a little nervous. I am still getting used to the idea that there is a baby in my belly :)

Tuesday, June 16, 2009

Morning Sickness...

It doesn't just happen in the morning lol. I am learning that quickly. I have been nauseous the last couple days mid-day. Tonight I had my first full blown incident. Fun. It comes with the territory though, so it is worth it in the long run! Well, I am off the bed! Building a baby from scratch is awfully exhausting :)

Big News!

WE ARE GOING TO HAVE A BABY!!! We can't believe it happened so fast! We are so happy! By my calculations, my due date is February 18, 2010. It is still very surreal. My confirmation appointment is next Monday, 6/22/09. We will have this blog set to private until I let my job know. I am planning on doing that sometime between this appointment and my next one (7/20/09). I am hoping that everything goes smoothly and they say everything is progressing nicely. It's just the strangest feeling. I have been so exhausted. I feel like I need a nap around 2:30pm everyday haha! I had a little nausea this afternoon, that was no fun. I have also had ALOT of soreness in certain upper regions lol. Other than that, it's been good so far. Brian and Jeanna both think we are going to have a girl. I am leaning that way too, but, I will be ok either way. I just want a healthy baby :)

Cookout

For the last few months, we have been going to these fun little neighborhood gathering. Just a few couple from the neighborhood getting together for drinks and some food. It has been great getting to know some of our neighbors. Well, it's our turn to host next. I am trying to figure out when we are going to have ours.We are thinking sometime in late June or early July. The last one was the first weekend in May. We are looking forward to hosting. I live for this stuff. It always makes me a little nervous whe we have people over for the first time. I am just so curious as to what they think of our place and everything we have done since we moved in 2 years ago. I also wonder what they think of our food selections, music preferences, etc. I have always been one not to care too much about what others think, but some times it would be nice to know lol.

Well, the hubby is upstairs working on repainting our master bedroom, so i better go join him :)

We have really enjoyed fixing our yard up. Brian got pretty into it and actually enjoyed it too :) I just love looking out the back window and seeing everything we have done. It feels much more inviting than it used to.

We have some baby birds in our big bush/tree off the back patio. I am pretty sure they are mockingbirds. They sure are hungry little fellas. They chirp a lot! haha! There is always a net in that same tree every year. I really think it is the same birds that keep coming back. This is what the babies have looked like in the past:
I haven't looked in there this year. I am always too afraid that I will get to close and the mom won't come back or that she will be in the nest and come after me!
